Mrs Clémentine Umugwaneza is an energy specialist with over 10 years of experience in the infrastructure sector and she has a demonstrated history of working in the utilities industry in close collaboration with the donors’ community. She is a seasoned professional with skills in Project & Program Management, Strategic Management and Policy Development.
From 2010, Mrs Umugwaneza worked for the Ministry of Infrastructure, the former Energy and Water Sanitation Authority (EWSA), the Office of the Prime Minister as well as the Energy Development Company Ltd (EDCL) in different capacities within her expertise. Today, she is working for Rwanda Energy Group (REG) as the Director for Strategic Planning. In 2013 – 2014, Mrs Umugwaneza served as the vice-chairperson of the Board of Directors of EWSA Ltd, whose main mandate was the reform of the energy and water sectors as well as the restructuring of the parastatal EWSA that later resulted into 2 corporate companies; one for energy, REG Holding, and the other one for water and sanitation, WASAC Ltd.
Mrs Umugwaneza holds a Master in Control Systems Engineering from HAN University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands and a Bachelor of Science in Electromechanical Engineering from KIST in Rwanda.
She is married and lives in Kigali with her husband and three kids.
